I an so glad that it's tonight the clocks go forward and not tomorrow, like my calendar says. Is it just me, or does it normally happen on a Sunday though? Whatever, I'm not complaining.

Ha! Oxford won the boatrace by a mile. Kickass. And Man. Utd annihilated Aston Villa 4-0 so double kickass.

I so had a thing to say but I have completely forgotten. Um. No, nothing. I must shower and sleep as it is sort-of half past midnight now (I changed the clocks already because otherwise I'll forget) and...oh, I remembered! It's nothing of any great note, just that I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today, which I was very chuffed about as I've wanted to see it since it first came out and it was one of my favourite books as a child. On the whole, it was OK, I thought. It was pretty faithful to the book - apart from the random flashbacks into WW's life - most of the way through and that was awesome. But then, what the hell was up with the ending? Random WW and his father reunion? WW not liking kids and asking Charlie to leave his family? NO NO NO NO NO! Book!Wonka was great with kids and although Johnny Depp played him nice and eccentric, it was creepy eccentric not manic eccentric the way it should have been. That spoiled it a bit (and the fact that I spent the entire movie trying to work out where I'd seen the kid who played Charlie before) but I liked the factory and the awful kids and on the whole, enjoyable viewing. Lacking energy, but still OK.

My English teacher looks like an Oompa-Loompa, only with blond hair. This is vaguely disturbing.

And on that bombshell, I'm crashing.

Brokeback Mountain. D:!!!!!

Man, if I was up to it, I'd write a nice discourse on how much I loved it and why and everything. As it is, all I can do is go UGH and want to cry.

D:!!!!!

OK flist, I need your help. I throw myself on your superior knowledge of fandom things.

I haven't been to the movies in over a year. And just once in the last...two and a half. For someone who used to go four times a week, this is horrible. I also have no membership to video rental stores etc. Basically, when it comes to movies, I am of the suck recently. Can anyone help me out and give me a list of things they think I should watch? I like pretty much anything so any recs are welcome.

The easy ones to get out of the way that I know I should see - the Narnia movie, Brokeback Mountain, X3. The new Superman, if only because Kevin Spacey's in it (j'adore!). Other than that...I have no clue what's out there.

Same goes for bands. Any hot new tunes out there? Kat, those Blue October songs you uploaded are brilliant, who are those dudes?

This is me making an attempt to get back into the mainstream a bit. Someone help me out please?

So, I finally watched Goblet of Fire yesterday. Thoughts on that under the cut, for any other people who haven't seen it yet (which yes, I know is doubtful).

A few thoughts )

Now, I just have to see Brokeback Mountain. That's the next on my 'Must must must!!! watch' list. But I refuse to d/l it because the scenery is supposed to be amazing and I don't want to lose the impact with a dodgy copy.

But of course, first comes last nights 24. I've had it for a few hours and haven't yet mustered the courage to watch. Although I think it'll be fine. I'm glad I'm spoiled for this one though, I'm now just worried that it won't live up to expectation. Ho hum.

...cos I am bored and can't be bothered to write anything.

Watched Fight Club tonight for about the tenth time. God I love that movie. Was never a fan of Brad Pitt until I saw it, now I would very much like to jump his bones. Yis. A truth only exaberated by the way he was totally gorgeous in both the 'Ocean's....' movies - he was hot in those too. Not as hot as George, but that goes without saying. Few people are.

Ocean's 12 is extremely random, but fun nonetheless.

Saw Star Wars: Episode III a few days ago. I swear that George Lucas should never be allowed to pick up a pen again. And keep him away from computers too, just in case he feels the need to 'write' something. Because - just no. It was pretty good from the time after Anakin decides to turn, because its kind of emotional and the fights are cool. But the actual scene where Anakin makes his mind up? Never heard such lame dialouge in my life. Apart from maybe the two hours or so before it - i.e the rest of the film. Blergh. Could have been so much better, but probaly shouldn't have expected it to be. Even Ewan had trouble with the lines he had to say - on a positive note though, he looks beyond hot with a beard. *ravishes* And Hayden is also pretty, in a teenage kind of way.

If anyone's seen 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' - please let me know if its any good. For some reason, the nearest cinema to me isn't showing it. And thats a crime because I am such a fan of the books, I may die if I don't get to watch this soon.

Ummm - a random rec. If anyone hasn't seen 'Withnail and I' - watch it. It's beyond hilarious and probably the best British movie ever made.

OK, gonna go watch Ocean's 11 now. I feel the need to mentally molest George Clooney. *grabs*
