Once again, I am mooching around with little to do. About to start my NaNo thing but...what's better than procrastination? So, have some pics of my house and Housemate Jen's dogs. Apologies for the dodgy light on some, I can't be bothered to edit or adjust settings or, y'know, make any kind of effort today.
The living room - two shots because its quite big and I can't fit it all in one. I should say before I post further - I feel really bloody lucky to live here, even if it is expensive. I'd buy this house in a heartbeat if I could, because I love it. But I think my time here is coming to an end, hence early nostalgia.
And stairs down to the basement kitchen. This is an old Victorian house with a lot of its original bits and pieces still intact. Not in this pic though, I mention it only because large kitchens in the basement were quite a feature of this sort of house, I believe.
And the room itself. There's another room off it which I assume use to be the pantry but its split into two now and one part is the dogs bedroom and the other houses the snake and assorted bric-a-brac/laundry/bikes/tools/paint etc, so I didn't take a picture of it.
The back garden, from the back door. No, we never tidy it up, why do you ask?
The view from the back of the back garden. There's a river running at the back, presumably it goes into the canal which is only half a mile or so down the road.
And the back of the house itself. It's tall and narrow - including the attic, its four floors.
This is Tiga (prounounced Tee-ga), though she also goes by Tiggle, Wiggle, Tig, Teeg or occasionally Dirt-Diggler or Dirt-Tiggler when she's decided to claw holes in the garden again. She's beautiful, friendly, adores everyone, a pure bred and absolutely thick as mince.
And this is Kizzy, which I've always thought was a stupid name but actually suits her quite well. She's a rescue dog, part terrier, part Daschund and is a total bitch. Unequivocal queen of the house until we got a dog behaviour man in to look at her, she still lords it over Tiga without shame. She can be yappy as hell but its all a front, because she's really very timid and sweet and dainty. And wonderful to sit on your lap and cuddle, even though we;re not actually allowed to do that anymore.
And the two together - they were really freaked out by my taking pictures of them. Didn't know where to put themselves. Kizzy because she's weird about new things and Tiga because she's thick.
They were staring at the door into the living room by the time I'd finished, praying to be let away from the whirring black thing in my hand. Bless 'em.
I think my digital camcorder takes pictures weirdly - looking at the preview of these pics, everything looks a bit squashed up and small. But its really not, the rooms in this place are pretty big. Meh. And there ya go, my pointless post for the day. Next week I'll develop the film I have of Bertie the spaniel, who's dead now, and I'll have to post pics of how beautiful he was. Man, I miss him.
And now, NaNo!
