I understand what's expected of me

Fandom stuff - does anyone have a link to the second 24 trailer? I tried the 24la.net site (think that's right - the Spanish one, anyway) and both the trailers I got from tere were the same.
Having said that - SQUEE! Brief thoughts
HEE! Looks so awesome. And y'know, I have a feeling that Jack's not going to be the suicudal martyr this time. Him saying, 'I understand what's expected of me' doesn't automatically equate to, 'That means I'm going to do what you ask.' I mean, usually it would because it's Jack, but at the same time - he's just come back from eighteen months of torture. Would sheer stubbornness at not wanting to die at Chinese hands really sustain him through that? There's no way he wouldn't get worn down - hell, they only punched him a few times when they grabbed him and he was telling them to kill him.
...that came out wrong. I don't mean I think he's weak, of course not. I'm just saying that it'd be pretty damn hard to last that long based solely on the desire to die in your own way. But then, it's Jack. He's got the mental strength of ten Supermans. And he did sound like he was OK with the idea of sacrificing himself but he's still running around and fighting and shooting and whatnot, so it seems pretty clear that he's either a) saving himself for the proper sacrifice that'll save the country at the end of the season, or b) he wants to live after all.
Here's hoping for the latter! You know what I think'd be awesome? If he gave the Chinese some information under torture and they end up saving his ass. Mr. Diplomat Man looked pretty grossed out at the sight of him getting off that plane.
Of course, will never happen. And now I'm talking bollocks so I'd better shut up.
And the reason I haven't left for my mother's yet is because, as yet, I have not been paid. *SIGH* Should have expected it.

Ws it this one? That's the TV Teaser for the Trailer. If it's not what you're looking for, I would say it's the sites fault. If it's the trailer you're looking for, it's your browser. *g*

:) i'd love the idea, would add a new dimension and avoid seeming to appear so one-sided! ( i hope very much, he'll find a chinese ally this season )
and many thanks to

Date: 2006-10-27 02:19 pm (UTC)I'm kind of hoping this is just what he's settled for but had really been waiting to be rescued. I guess it's possible he's also talking about all the people who died in s5. I think without, you know seeing *anything*, that he thinks this is a better way to die than in some prison camp.. Oh! Did you see the second trailer which shows the MOMENT that he says that line and kinda sorta puts it into context?

Date: 2006-10-29 03:15 pm (UTC)And I agree that he would certainly prefer to die in his own way - I'm just thinking that he'd have to hang on to more than that for eighteen months. If he was getting regularly tortured, eventually he'd just stop caring how he went, and just want it all to be over.
