Step 1: Put your MP3 player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line(s) of the first 25 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: NO CHEATING (that goes for the guesser, too!)

These are all from my 'Favouites' playlist as if I took 25 songs at random from all the tunes on my ipod, chances are I wouldn't have a clue what they are and be totally unable to tell if you get them correct or not.

Heh, these is quite an alarming tendancy for the title of the song to be in the first line with some of these. Still, there ya go. Also in the case of * - those are the first lines of the first verse. The song starts with the chorus but that would have just been ridiculously easy.

D'Oh. I have 23. I just couldn't remember the Band, then it came up on psyTunes.

Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus

From: [identity profile] fightingthecage.livejournal.com
Heh, close enough. My version is the Marilyn Manson one but there's no way of telling that from lyrics. So, yep!

...why would the world need Marilyn Manson to cover Depeche Mode?

Date: 2006-10-13 02:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fightingthecage.livejournal.com
...because Depeche Mode are 80's and cheesy while Marilyn Manson kicks ass?

Um.

*hides*

innerbrat: (wtf)
From: [personal profile] innerbrat
Oh come now, since when was 90s cheese superior to 80s cheese?

Since 90's cheese involved more guitar and thumpin' base, and less synthesized disco pop and...mullets.

(And no, NO WE DON'T!)

Date: 2006-10-13 02:19 pm (UTC)
innerbrat: (muahahaha!)
From: [personal profile] innerbrat
Bah, I say. BAH. There were guitars in the 80's. And you know you secretly love the mullets. You KNOW YOU DO. And poodle perms. No one can resist the power of the poodle perm.

Date: 2006-10-13 02:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fightingthecage.livejournal.com
*resists it omg*

Yeah, there were guitars. With cool stadium-rock bands like Queen and Def Leppard and Kiss and Bon Jovi etc...and they rocked! But the others...just no.

I DO NOT LOVE THE MULLET AND NO ONE CAN FORCE ME TO ADMIT OTHERWISE NO NO NO NO NO...ooooh, looong. And short. It's the best of both worlds on one head!

And dude, that icon? Is love.

See? SEE? I'm getting you to compromise already! I knew I could do it! Ahahahaha!

But seriously, Marilyn is at his best covering 80s songs by cute little pop bands. Depeche Mode is too close to his actual sound to be worth it.

I know, isn't it? *squeezes it*

80's songs by cute little pop bands...or Annie Lennox. *nods* It's a thing.

*digs heels in, refuses to compromise, stubborn as mule etc but still strokes mullet ew ew ew...*

I'd laugh SO damn much if Depeche Mode were an influence on MM's sound - because that would just be odd. Then again, nothing much would surprise me with him.

As am I. Except in the case of whenever Marilyn Manson covers some Annie Lennox or some such, then I'm all about the re-make.
