Weirdass day.

It started terribly and ended rather well. I checked my bank balance again when I woke up - no cash. Which, of course, put me in a foul mood. So I didn't feel at all bad when I went down to work and collared my mate Tony, to tell him that I had an emergency dentist appointment and so, would be late in for the morning shift. No bother there, so off I went.

Only I had no intention of turning up for the morning shift at all, seeing as my mother visited me this week and took up my days off. Obviously, with me doing Community Service at the moment, this was a problem. Or not, if you have no problem with skipping work, as I don't (which is sort of what got me into court in the first place, now I come to think of it. Heh.)

Anyway, had to drive in because I didn't have any money for the bus. Had no money to pay for parking either, which is why I had to park out of town and walk in. Not good for my mood. But no matter, work was mindless and boring as always. The cool manager today, so I got credited for slightly more time than I actually did, which is always a bonus and cheered me up a bit.

Went to proper work. Got told by wanker manager that I'd been paid, when I hadn't. Told him so rather angrily, so he huffed. Asshole. Nevertheless, I got the money I was owed from last month back in cash, so at least one bill is taken care of there. Work - quiet and boring. Stayed for a drink afterwards which resulted in playing pool, then chess, then driving off into town and hanging out with four random Polish dudes in their house, smoking a couple of joints and having a laugh. And sometime in the interim I got paid, hurrah!

Also at work, I finally got around telling the nice(er) manger (Wanker's wife) that I'm going back to college in two weeks. She was great about it. Hurrah! :)

My point of all this - I love the way that days can be utter crap and then turn out to be marvellous. Brilliant how that happens! And man, have I mentioned Cute Polish Boy before? He works in the kitchen too and he's gorgeous. And a real sweetheart too. Bah to his girlfriend. Still, he's a good guy to hang out with. His name's Bart and I'm getting a good education in Polish swearwords from him. Always useful information. *nods*

And Tony, the traineee kitchen chef that I went out with tonight - ahahaha, I forsee trouble there. He got hammered on beer and vodka and weed and it turns out he's one of those people that reveal a lot about themselves when they're under the influence. He totally reminds me off the good mates I made in New York and LA - I seem to be very good at making friends with people who have no self-esteem and an addiction problem. I always end up trying to help them out and it generally turns out badly. And he's younger than the others I've made friends with like that...I'm not making sense. Ever so tired. I may expand on that at some other point so I can make sense of it to myself.

Blah. Bank Holiday weekend - it's going to be mental at the hotel. :( I really can't be arsed.
