Update on life:

If anyone remembers reading my journal back in the autumn months, and whinging constantly about Jake - aka Housemate Jen's Nutcase Australian Boyfriend - joy! He'll be back on Monday, for three weeks. I apologise in advance for any whinging that may result from this visit, and am fairly confident it'll come after the first week or so when he stops being funny. I assume he'll stop being funny fairly rapidly because he's already threatened to kill a dude she was seeing from work (even though it was only a two-week relationship) and also tried to kill himself after she broke up with him a couple of months ago. Saved by a dud bullet apparently.

On the other hand, he's amusing when he's in a good mood. And very pretty to look at. His arrival has already caused much hilarity because he wants us to tape the Brazil-Australia game tomorrow, as he'll be on the plane. Could we get the damn video to work? Could we hell. It took two hours this evening, multiple remote controls and sets of instructions, the breakage of my TV when tried to use as backup, much swearing, re-tuning the damn thing four times and threats of throwing the whole thing out of the window. Why do instructions say, 'plug video in, connect SCART lead and that's it!' as though they're not actually lying through their arses! But! We prevailed. The tape is ready to run. So that's a relief - I'm just looking forward to the guest pundit on the game...helloooooo Shane Warne. Yes, you are (or were) a tad arrogant, you're a bit thick around the midsection these days, you're Australian and a better bowler than anyone England has ever produced...but you're also fit. So all is forgiven.

So, other than that mini-debacle this evening and the prospect of major debacle in the weeks to come, life contines as normal. Oh, and I've also been told that the word I use most often in the world is 'dude' (followed closely by 'totally') and tomorrow I'm having Housemate Jen hack three inches off my hair because I can't bear the length anymore. Joy!

You do realize that we (Australia) are getting to get utterly thrashed by Brazil and if he cares enough about soccer (and yes, I will say soccer - our team is the Socceroos, so there) to want to you tape it, he's not going to be in a good mood?

Heh, thanks for that. And...yeah. But on the upside, Housemate Jen and I can totally rip the piss out of him for his entire stay when they lose. So. Totally worth it.

Also? Australia are looking pretty handy, so I don't think a thrashing will occur. I don't think they'll win but I reckon it'll be by no more than two goals.
