Only for a while
Jun. 5th, 2006 12:51 amDamn. I was putting myself into the brutal honesty meme but it's already reached 5000 comments so I can't. If anyone wants to be honest with me, feel free to do so here. Anon is fine, though I'm totally OK with people saying stuff directly to me.
I see that some other people are refusing to do it, for good reasons. I have no qualms about such things, simply because if I was flamed brutally by anyone, I'd just laugh. So really, if you want to honestly tell mem what you think of me, go ahead. :)
In other news - looks like I got the job today. The chef dude is going on holiday for ten days now, so I won't know for sure until I see him again on the 15th. But he said I had the most experience of the three people he's spoken to, I live locally, I've done the job before and he outright said that it 'looked promising.' So YAY! I'm happy about this - even happier that I've still got two weeks before I'd be starting, simply because it means I won't miss the start of the World Cup on Friday. And England's first game on Saturday is safe! Ahhh, priorities. Gotta love 'em.

Date: 2006-06-05 12:03 pm (UTC)I hope you'll get this job. And yes, the World Cup will be great, we have got tickets for Italy/Czech republic... And I hope that England wins its group, because I don't want to see Germany/England in the round before the quarter finale... :)

Date: 2006-06-05 04:28 pm (UTC)I'm really glad you like the stories though, thanks for saying that. And dude, I am so envious. You have tickets to a game! Arg, lucky thing. *snicker* I'm sure you don't want to meet England sooner than is necessary, we've got a good team this time round. Having said that, I don't want to meet us to meet the home team in the first knockout stage either, especially with our footballing record against you guys. So lets hope we both win our groups. Or, y'know, that the Germans don't qualify past the group stage at all... :D

Date: 2006-06-05 10:08 pm (UTC)That's an interesting question. And...I would say that they're not all that far-fetched at all. I'm not sure about plots to blackmail Presidents or hold the country to ransom etc - but corruption at the top and things being engineered to create situations that allows legislation to be passed, scaremongering to keep citizens afraid, Presidents and Prime Ministers having knowledge of terrorism that they allow to happen so they can get what they want - I think that stuff already happens. And has for a very long time. Of course, not within a 24 hour period etc, but the concepts the show talks about - yeah. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to find out that that sort of thing is closer to the truth than we know.
