Because today is Mother's Day. And not only did you forget to send your mother a card - the very same mother that's stopped you from living on the streets for the last six months - you totally didn't even know it was Mother's Day until the housemate reminded you.

Ha. I use the paracetemol route, which only works sporadically these days. *winces* But it worked this time, so yay! I just have to learn to stop being such an idiot and not eat things that make it flare. :(

Thank goodness, I was flailing, because I thought to myself "why would they bother to put Mothers' Day on a different day in different countries?" but also "Why wouldn't I have seen a million announcements about it by now if it were?!"

What Bridget said. The reason it's always in March in the UK is because it always falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent - it's a holiday based in religion here, whereas in America it was established by a couple of women campaigning for it.
