fightingthecage: (24 - Jack)

I am altogether too tired to post what I thought about the last ep of 24, suffice to say that I thought it was great. I did have a thought though, that I think it would be cool to have played out.

I'm sure that the Chinese are going to figure in this at some point. There's no way they could completely ignore what happened at the end of S4.

So - who thinks that Germany's going to be up for a little revenge?

Just a flyer really, but it makes sense to me - international intelligence is a pretty close-knit thing. They'll do a background on Jack, see that he's supposed to be dead etc, and now that he's ruined their operation with Collette and didn't give them the wet list, they're bound to be pissed. And it wouldn't be hard for them to tip off the Chinese that Jack's back in LA - and oh look! Martial law! Would be difficult for him to escape with troops on the streets.

Well anyway, just a bit of harmless speculation.

I may be being a bit bitter at the writers, even with the good job they've been doing the season, when I say I wouldn't put it past the writers to completely ignore the end s4 (especially as I know they didn't have something planned out for it), but this sounds like just as good a reasoning as any. Though, someone else brought up this idea to me last night and my thoughts were:

End of Season Five: *GERMANY WANTS JACK*
Beginning of Season Six: *Jack in Berlin*

Ahahaha - well, aren't there rumours again of S6 being shot in London? So you never know, Germany's only a couple of hours away on a plane. :D

And then they have to fly over and actually shoot there. I woulud throw in my years amount of vacation and settle down in Berlin for a few weeks. =D

But didn't they say he works for MI-6, even that he's German? That whole part confused me anyway.

Heh, it'd be awesome! I doubt it'll happen though - the cost of shooting in London would be extortionate and with a trip to the Continent as well? Unless Fox are feeling particularly generous with their budget, I doubt that they'll move it overseas. It's one of those rumours that never seems to die though so I'm not giving up hope!

And no, it was that he trained at MI-6, not worked for them.

Yeah, the website says he was working for the "German Federal Intelligence Service" - which I'm guessing is this. (um... I can see why they didn't refer to it by name on the show, though seeing Kiefer try to pronounce that would have been quite amusing).

That was exactly my first thought, when I realised how pissed Theo is!!!

They hadn't had a real good reason so far, but this one would be. And this time Jack wouldn't go quietly, because he has too much business still to finish. I really hope to see THAT play out. :)

Totally! And he's understandably pissed I would say - lost the girl he'd fallen for, months of work ruined and nothing to show for it - it'd be the easiest thing in the world for there to be an anonymous call to the Chinese embassy - or hell, that's good leverage. The Germans could probably get something in exchange for finding out where Jack is and passing that info along.
