I have so much food in my kitchen, I can't fit it all in the cupboards. HEEE!

I don't know if people get this, maybe it's just something I find brilliant. But...when you can walk into your kitchen and are actually spoilt for choice over what to eat for dinner, it's a bloody nice feeling. My mum rocks sometimes. I am such a hopelessly bad shopper, I often end up living on toast for weeks on end, or plain pasta for days at a time simply because I can't be bothered to go the supermarket. So this? Is joy.

My sister - meh. Haven't seen her in almost three years and we still don't have anything to say to each other. Nice enough, but bland. Such is life I guess.

So. I've been up way over 24 hours and have to be up in a few more to take mother to the train. This visit? Not as stressful as I thought it would be. But in other sad news, one of my housemates horses had to be put down on Thursday. Damn farrier's apprentice hammered a nail into his foot when putting new shoes on him. Cue absess, infection, fever, and then bone damage. Which horses very rarely come back from. And Nookie didn't. :(

I'm crashing. So tired. But things will be written tomorrow and that will be joy. :)

Just searched 24 on LJ and found 'Cum Tacent, Clamant' on [livejournal.com profile] 24_fanfic... ended up here. I'm just starting to read CTC, although I don't tend to read much 24 fanfic, despite being a 24 addict. I think it's because 24's so fast-paced that you never know when something's going to get blown out of the water, but I love the idea of exploring the Mexico time.

This entry struck two chords with me: firstly, I completely understand what you mean about the food. I love to cook but I hate to shop. I picked up some food one night after not shopping for weeks and said to the cashier, "I'll actually be able to eat now!"

She said, "Oh, have you been fasting?"

I replied, "No, just haven't had any food in the house." She looked at me like I was mad.

I'm sorry about your housemate's horse. One of the horses at my riding stable got a rat bite on his foreleg. As you put it,
"Cue absess, infection, fever, and then bone damage."
He was a huge horse, 17h1, but a tiny little rat bite was too much for him. After he was put down, we killed rats with a lot more savagery.

I'll get back to CTC now!

Ack, I'm sorry. It's always just horrendous when a horse has to be put down. It was bad in this case too, because he was happy in himself. He'd just be unable to walk properly for the rest of his life and be on steroids and painkillers - and that's no life for an active creature. My friend has another horse but still, it was pretty traumatic for her and everybody misses him. :(

And God yes, having food is love. People who shop all the time or live with their parents etc, probably don't quite understand why it's such a cool thing. But...it really is!

I hope you enjoy CTC. It's a bit 'out there' in places for some people. I've only just picked it up again after nine months without updating it. All last weekend was spent re-reading it to try and remember what the hell happened so far - I have to admit to finding it more than a bit dodgy in places. But still, hopefully it'll be entertaining enough. Thanks for reading! *glomps*
