Earlier today I watched Ep 9 of 24. And remarkably, I just watched Ep 10 as well - I'm actually up to date! :)
I love Logan more and more each week. Which is remarkable really, given that I fell hopelessly in love with him last season in virtually the first episode I saw him in. I cannot say it enough - Gregory Itzin is amazing. Yeah, Logan is a weak President and the worse person in the world for making decisions and passing the blame when things don't go his way. But at the same time, I have no trouble whatsoever believing that he really doesn't want all those civilians to die and also, that he really, truly loves his wife. It takes a great actor to make him that three-dimensional, he really could just be a cartoonish buffoon that everyone finds it easy to hate. Instead I find myself really stressing for him when he's put in as impossible situation, just like I do for Jack.
I'm really glad that this season TPTB at 24 have gone back to the tense, thriller feel. The whole undercurrent while Lynn was losing it at CTU was brilliant in this latest ep, I think. Really reminiscent of S1 when Jack was working only with Nina. And the Logan situation is also a throwback obviously - civilian lives or the lives of those closest to you. Someone give Logan a gun and a forest to run through in a gazelle-like fashion!
But yeah - a Jack-light episode, this one. And I really didn't mind, which is the weird thing. The sub-plots of 24 are usually quite a case of 'yada yada other people other people' for me, but this really wasn't. In fact, I enjoyed the supporting cast much more than Jack this week, they had more to do and the stuff was more interesting.
Well, there's a first. I hope it doesn't become a trend.
Yay, pointless rambling.
In other news, it's my Dad's birthday today. Or tomorrow. I always get confused because he was born on February 29th and I never know what day to email him. At least I have a choice I suppose. And seeing as I haven't done it yet, I guess I'll do it in the morning. Or midnight. That might work better. Feh.
I REALLY WANT TO WRITE! And can't seem to sit still long enough. Ack. *eats chocolate and goes to play with icons*

Did you see the previews? Lordy, I saw the Canadian one and it is so much better than the US one. I won't tell you what happens in it, but man, you've got to see it! Plus, this season I am spoiler free and it's great not knowing anything!
Anyway, sorry to ramble, i've been awak since Monday and i'm loaded full of happy pills:D:D:D

Date: 2006-03-01 02:47 am (UTC)I'm so in love with Gregory Itzin's acting, I can't even tell you. Quite crazy about it. Brilliant episode, seriously. This is the first one this series I've been utterly engrossed in, y'know? Which is weird as it's a great season so far - but that ep really drew me in properly for the first time. Awesome! :D
GO TO SLEEP!

Date: 2006-03-01 02:52 am (UTC)Yeah, he's amazing, him, Jean Smart, and James Morrison are the best on there right now. Yeah, it was pretty awesome, but I loved last weeks more. But wow, Lynny, Lynny, Lynny. Crazy fucker.
Heh, yeah, i need to do some work first, i'll be home by one tomorrow, so i'll sleep then:D Why you still up?

Date: 2006-03-01 03:05 am (UTC)Guh, I love Bill too. Loved him from his first appearance also, he rocks. Lynn's a crazy asshole - one of those 'love to hate' characters but I'm sure if he sticks around then we'll get to see another side of him too. They always do that to us.
I'm still up because - I'm always up nights. Every night. Dunno why, just like it better. :)

Date: 2006-03-01 03:25 am (UTC)I loves him, really...there are three people like this season and it's Billy B, and the Logans:D
I hope he stays away, although, we might just see him later because I think the keycard will play a major role.
Ahh yeah, your weird sleeping habits. it's too quite. I don't like it.

Date: 2006-03-01 06:06 pm (UTC)And you're right, I think the keycard will be important. That boyfriend was probably enlisted to steal it for some reason, there's no way that was just a random thing.

Date: 2006-03-01 06:08 pm (UTC)I am SO writing right now. Not fanfic though, sorry. But man, I have an urge to get back to CTC that may not be possible to deny - I'm just balking at having to go back and read the last few chapters to catch up on where the hell I'm at.
