Tree rant

My housemate went out and bought a tree today, decorated it and everything - all without telling me. We were supposed to go do it together and she didn't even ask me if I wanted to go. Decorating the tree is one of my fave parts of Christmas! *whine*

OK, so I can handle her doing it - IF IT LOOKED GOOD!! But it doesn't, there's hardly any decorations on it, the lights are all white...it's a big tree. It needs more. It just looks lame and I can't say that, because she's a person who likes a 'classy' tree, with no tinsel and everything colour co-ordinated... and because she went and got it, I now can't complain.

*sigh* Will stop ranting. It smells nice, that's a good thing.

Feh.

(Just to get on her tits, I'm going to put all my decorations up in my room, all lights round the window and festive stuff. She'll hate it. Hurrah! :D)

Awww, that sucks!

I love decorating the tree too! We are probably doing it tomorrow afternoon! The tradition here in Sweden is that you decorate the tree the night before Xmas Eve but I think most people have abandoned that now! The tree makes it feel like Xmas and the lights are definitely needed this time of year so I think most want to have it up longer! :)

Yeah, I heard that about loads of other places in Europe too - weird to me to leave it so late. I know people that put all the decorations up on December 1st! I wouldn't do that but two weeks before is the latest I can leave it - gotta get into the spirit early! :D

I usually decorate the house for Lucia (Dec 13th) which we celebrate with ginger snap cookies, songs, glögg (like glüwein) all dressed up as the saint herself, gingersnaps or little santas... :DD

BTW - are you ever on MSN nowadays? I'm bored and it seems all my buddies are in bed already (and the Americans seem to favour RL tonight!)

I am a Christmas nut! I love it! And scrooges do my head in because hell, Chrimbo is about partying and having fun, from about now (two weeks before) until New Year - what's not to love about that?
