Taken from the universe at large
Dec. 4th, 2008 11:46 pmPut your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first is the title.
I Call You Up Whenever Things Go Wrong
You let me violate you
I feel forces all around me
Who's that knocking on my door?
I thought I saw a man brought to life
For five long years I thought you were my man
You keep saying you've got something for me
When you were here before, couldn't look you in the eye
Go to sleep you little baby
Long long long long time ago, before the wind before the snow
Never made it as a wise man
You're backed against the wall
I think I'm drowning, asphixiating
Fake tales of San Francisco echo through the room
I don't know what love is
We talked, together sharpening a knife
Games changes and fears, when will they go from here?
Oh Danny boy
Spy on me baby, use satellite
What good is sitting alone in your room?
I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord.
...wow, bits of that work really well. Small bits. Perhaps it's just the similar theme of a lot of the songs on my 'favourites' playlist (ipod is out in the car and I don't want to shuffle my whole library in itunes).
