I have had the new John Barrowman album for a few days (the one that will be released on Monday, not his last one) and I haven't listened to it yet, which makes me feel bad. Because I really want to! But I have a feeling I'm going to totally love it because his voice is amazing but if I do love it then I wont be able to stop listening to it and then I'll be a person who listens to John Barrowman augh augh ugh.
I also have the new Killers album but haven't listened to that yet because I'm lazy. And my love affiar with the Killers is pretty love/hate right now. At least Brandon has got rid of his moustache. I just can't get my head around their last single.
Feeling a bit better today so I'll be going to work tomorrow. Which I don't mind because a) I need the money and b) it will get me away from mother for a while. She's been great while I've been ill and we haven't got on as badly as normal this week, but I am definitely ready to have my house back to myself again.
OK, now I need to go find something to do.
ETA: Computer/music tech people on my flist - does anyone know if there's a way to just...plug your ipod into a new computer and transfer your library that way? I always thought that was possible but now, I learn, apparently it is not. Or is it? This is my question to you.

Og and you can JUST do that with a zune, you silly iPod owner =p
As for the killers it seems to like it's a force rhyming attempt for the lack of a better word choice. And THEN after writing the song tehy were like "ooh! There's a quote like that!"
But again, that's just me.

Date: 2008-11-23 11:32 pm (UTC)I am reserving judgement on The Killers at the moment, just untilo I listen to their new album...which I will, as soon as my ipod has finished synching to this computer. If it's all bizarre, I will think them bizarre. If it's good, I will give them the benefit of the doubt re: Humans.

Date: 2008-11-22 04:42 pm (UTC)You're using Vista, right? Go to Control Panel -> Appearance & Personalisation and click on "Show hidden files and folders" under Folder Options. There's a little radio button in the window that pops up.
Then just open up your iPod in My Computer, go to iPod_Control and drag the Music folder over to your hard drive, preferably wherever your iTunes library is kept. If you've got a lot of songs, it'll take a while. Once it's done, you need to right-click that folder, go to Properties and unselect "Hidden".
Of course, all these files will have nonsensical names and be in F## folders. I don't know what your iTunes settings are like, but if you want your library to be well-organised and named correctly on the hard drive as well as in iTunes, you'll need to go (within iTunes) to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced and select "Keep iTunes Music folder organised". Then go to File -> Add folder to library, find your newly-transferred folder, hit OK, aaand you're done! Though again, iTunes may take a while to process all the songs if you have a lot.
...that was long and sounds really complicated, but it isn't, I swear. It's just detailed.
