Lol - what would you like to know? It was frickin' awesome! If you haven't read it and would like me to spoil it, let me know - but I won't say anything now just in case.
Heh. I already know what happens, considering what my other fandom is. :-)
Glad to hear you liked it. Might it convert you to writing HP fanfic at all or will you stay strictly a 24-gal? (Unless you post HP stuff under another name.) You could do kick-ass anything.
I just - fuck, yeah man. It was weird, cos I'd heard rumours, dismissed them - but when I was reading I forgot all about them. So when I got to the end, it just like....came outta nowhere.
Thing is, I play a couple of canon characters in this one HP game, and one of them is very important in the plot of the sixth book. So I was chatting with one of the mods, and omg. It's going to be evil. Characters getting killed off left and right and bad bad things happening and whoa.
Dude! Lol, you're gonna have a blast with that! :D And hell, enough canon people got killed in this one, even if we dont know who they are, like so-and-so's little brother, whatshername's Aunt...everybody was biting it!
And crap, I can't believe it'll probably be another two years before the next one. Can't wait that long! :(
Lol - they're not that kind to us. Imagine the buzz for the last one? It'll be bigger than for the previous six combined! *dies at thought of what's coming*
I'm on AIM sometimes, normally when in Milliways. Other than that, I don't get on a whole lot cos I cant write and chat at the same time. Yeah, I suck. But I'll get on soon and look for ya, cool?
Totally! I couldn't make up my mind whether the thing at the beginning with Snape was a double bluff or a triple bluff or what...in the end I just sorta forgot about it. Which is why I was so 'OMFG!' at the end...
Yeah, I thought "well I just don't understand, I'm sure there's some hidden reason or meaning here..." but no, it was as straight forward as it seemed. Snape really was a triple agent.
Although it will be fun watching these teenage girls try to justify his actions.
Though I'd love to know more about exactly why Dumbledore trusted him so much, y'know? He's trusted hi so implicitly for six years now, there has to be a stronger reson for why.
Probably because he could read his thoughts and didn't see anything dangerous there - or because he beleived the best about people. Or you know, because the plot said he had to trust him?
More than six years too - it's been going on a while.
I suppose thats why there's been the whole thing with Occulemncy etc - and Snape being vaunted as the best at it etc. he'd have to be pretty damn good to fool Dumbledore.
Damn, its bloody sad though. But the set up for 7 couldn't be better - it's gonna be fucking awesome!! Can't believe we'll have to wait 2 years probably! *sob*
Hmm...no, I dont think Snape is that old. But thats just the date it was published or something, Snape could have just had it later.
End of their childhoods - definitely. All the sub-plots of them wanting partners, growing up, plus their coming-of-age this year...definitely. But in reality, Harry probably finished his childhood at the end of Goblet. Because that was pretty rough.
Yeah, we did. Actually, I would have liked a bit more angsting over Sirius - but at the same time, I think it was handled well. I mean - I think Harry would carry on as best he could etc and I totally understand that he can't be in pieces for ages, or the book would be twice its length...but still.
I didn't really notice a distinct lack of Hermione, but then, they've been gradually getting more and more solely about Harry for a while now. Which is understandable...interesting to see how much either Ron or Hermione will be in the next one now, with the way it ended.
Well yeah, for a bit. But he was only at Privet Drive for two weeks before Dumbledore came for him, so it couldn't have lasted too long. Still, i can believe it because he's got the propechy and the knowledge of what he has to do to keep him going - and Sirius dying might actually help him with that.
And yeah, I'm sure they'll find a way to help him. Wouldn't be a HP book without 'em! :D
Actually I was just telling a friend that I saw Harry and Jack parallels in the entire idea that their enemies created them - and also that even though they've seen so much and been through so many things and hurt, they can still love and be loved. I thought of that while reading for some reason.
Lol - and I was telling a mate that JK has sooo been watching 24 for the Angst. I mean - harry breaking up with Ginny because he had to go do his thing alone? Harry has been listening to Jack! Can't work and have a relationship at the same time... *hee*

Date: 2005-07-17 06:42 pm (UTC)Oooh yes. Book 7 is gonna be *awesome* -- but I think this was the end of their childhoods. Which is sad, but true.
He would have to be really good - but I thought the book was 50 years old, is Snape that old?
