It's Pancake Day! Hurrah! I even have ingredients but no lemon juice as randomly, I couldn't locate it in ASDA despite them advertising the fuck out of Pancake Day and all other ingredients. Including pancake batter mix which I sneer at. SNEER AT! What's the point of it if you're not going to mess them up yourself?
Gym today. Awesome! There are hot instructor dudes EVERYWHERE which is odd as it is a small gym. And when being shown how to use the treadmill I ran a K without even thinking about it which surprised the hell outta me. I know a K isn't far but its been ages since I ran anywhere so I was still all 0_0 about it. Tomorrow the aim is to actually make an effort and see where that takes me.
And I am unbelievably squeeful because I have pics of Evie and they are gorgeous! Instead of finishing the homework I should have done last night, this evening will be devoted to scanning them and sending them to everyone I know, oh yes. Expect picspam later!
And that is all. I need to go to Spar and get lemon juice, If they have run out I will cry because pancakes without lemon juice are just wrong.
ETA: What the fucking fuck? Photobucket is down for maintenance and LJ is telling me 'you must be logged in to upload photos' except that I am already. It's a damn conspiracy!

Date: 2008-02-05 07:31 pm (UTC)You have Pancake Day? Awesome! We call today Fat Tuesday (last day to fatten up!) and eat a pastry called semla! (Of course they start making semlas right after Xmas so most people have eaten quite a few already! LOL)

Date: 2008-02-05 07:40 pm (UTC)fat Tuesday? I thought that was just an American thing for Mardi Gras. Bizarre! Is semla the same thing as a pancake?

Date: 2008-02-05 07:47 pm (UTC)The semla consists of a cardamom-spiced wheat bun which has its top cut off and insides scooped out and is then filled with a mix of the scooped-out bread crumbs, milk and almond paste, topped with whipped cream. The cut-off top is then put back as a lid and dusted with icing sugar.
Yup, it's delicious! And the bakery across the street (the one I manage sometimes) makes the best ones! Yummy! (Thomas took the photo I used in the icon there!)

Date: 2008-02-05 08:33 pm (UTC)I have lemon juice now! I went on an epic trek to the shop (about 20 metres away) and am now armed with the necessary pancake garnishing stuff.
...now I just have to get off my arse and make them. Hmmm. Perhaps I should consider doing that. :)
