Just watched my first ever episode of Torchwood. Its fun! I am confused though.


I don't know a single thing about this show, other than that Jack Harkness likes chaps (and that John Barrowman is hot). But how is it that he was stabbed by that sleeper-alien thing and suffered no ill effects whatsoever? OK, he looked like it caused him pain. And then he ran away and talked normally and in the next scene was utterly uneffected. I feel perhaps this is taking suspension of disbelief too far unless there is some pertinent piece of info about the show that I'm missing.


Other than that, I quite like it. Typically cliched writing though but I've come to expect that from TV recently.

Or rather, he can, but then he comes back to life. I think it's from when Rose resurrected him when she had TARDIS in her in the first series of NewWho. I didn't really watch that series, so I'm NOT QUITE SURE.

Oh! This would be the pertinent piece of information I was lacking, then. As for Who-stuff...clueless about that too. I've only seen two episodes and one of them was the Chrimbo special a few weeks ago. But still. Awesome! That's a handy skill to possess.

Yep, it is. When she was all possessed by...something, and not quite herself, she knew that Jack was dead and was trying to fix it...but she was only human and whatever was possessing here was too much for her to handle, so she fixed it so that Jack can't die. He'll always come back.

*snicker* Well, as long as I keep that in mind I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy it quite mindlessly. Gotta say, I love Jack's habit of standing there with his arms folded all meanly like 'I AM SRS!!' at anyone he doesn't like. Awesome!

A+ for effort! Weird though - Jack Bauer seems to have much the same inability to die, even though we've never seen him get regenerated by some alien or whatever. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

HA! I am so pleased that someone else just saw their first episode, too! I just saw the episode before this one, and am--sadly, because I HELD OUT for a long time on the whole Torchwood thing--rather charmed. And seeing about getting my hands on the next episode.
