You Act Like You Are 27 Years Old

You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.

You mean I actually act my age?! OMG! How depressing! I must immediately go and find a keg party or similar.

...oh wait. We don't have keg parties in this country. Damnit. Oh well. :p

In other news, Evie will be a Big Nursery Girl in two weeks. Hurrah! I will be back at college and have a few hours to do things like shop without lugging a baby sling and carrier bags and boxes about, or go swimming or get my bike out of the shed or LOTS OF THINGS YAY!

On the downside, I completely hate the idea of leaving her with anyone else. I've been with her 24 hours a day since she was born and omg I don't want to leave her. :( But...I have to go to college. So I can go to Uni. And get a Proper Job so that I can buy her stuff. Yis. *resolves*

But Lord, gonna be so hard.

...this is so true. God Bless Britain. :D

Ugh. I thought I would be fine with it. And I am, logically. Emotionally, not so much. Still. Got to be done.

hi dear, I haven't been a good flister of late - but I do read your LJ and I'm always curious about you & your girl!

Just wanted to give you some words of support - my girl's been in child care since she was 8 months old - until then, I had her to myself. it was really tough, at first - give yourself and your girl about 3-4 weeks to adjust - that seems to be a magic time for that adjustment -- I knew that my baby had adjusted when she stopped crying when I left and began to take consistent naps at the day care center.

good luck,
Mary

Hellooo! And congratulations - I seem to remember an entry not too long ago about you expecting your second. YAY! :D

And thanks! I imagine it'll be OK really...I mean, hundreds of kids get left in childcare every day, right? So it'll be fine when it actually comes to it, I'm sure. It just bothers me when I think about it too much. It probably wont bother Evie at all though - she's only just coming up to three months so I'm sure she wont mind. Uh...hopefully. :)

I think you're right about it not bothering her at 3 months -- at 8 months, Bean had some serious separation anxiety going - plus, she was breastfeed and never took well to a bottle. So, it was tough on her - on tough on me because I knew it was tough on her. But still, she adjusted.

One other thing, trust your instincts with your day care provider - my first one was fine for about 2 months - then I began to get suspicious about a few things (ie. not enough workers every day, babies left in cribs too long to cry themselves to sleep, etc- nothing dangerous - but it wasn't what I wanted Bean to have). So I found another day care - Bean loved that one - and I just recently got into the uni day care- and Bean is already loving that one.

*nodnod* Thats good advice, thanks. I was careful to ask about the amount of workers to the small children (5 in a room of 12 kids) so I hope she'll get the attention she needs. And there is apparantly a low staff turnover too, so hopefully Evie will be able to get used to the same people and that should help. But I'm fully prepared to pull her out if she doesn't seem happy there - I can't stand the thought of leaving her somewhere where she might be miserable four days a week.
