*steams with anger*

I just read something about God....a piece claiming that unless we suffer in this life, we are not worthy to enter Heaven. And that we should be happy in our suffering because it ensures us eternal life. Apparently, God does not promise us happiness in this life, we must bear whatever is thrown at us because thats the only way he'll love us enough to let us into Heaven when we die.

WTF??!!!!!!

Seriously, if thats the case - why does He even bother letting us be born in the first place? Why not just let our spiritual selves float around in eternal happiness, without all the bother of actually living? Perhaps this person was saying that our lives are just a test to see if we're worthy - and by their standards, pretty much everyone will fail by the sound of it - jeez, guess we're all going to Hell. Sorry about that people...

This person is Catholic...I thought that if you sincerely repented of your sins, had the Last Rites when you die etc - then all was forgiven. Am I wrong? According to this person I am. I guess their God is a bit of a bastard.

My view? We're given one life (that we know about anyway). Make the bloody most of it.

*thanks God self is not a Catholic*

Complicated faith by the sound of it. Well, if that persons interpretation is not shared by the rest of the billion around the world, fair enough. I guess they're making their own life hard for the sake of it - oh well, to each their own.
