I have internet, I have internet, I HAVE INTERNET LALALALALA....!

It is very odd. My phone line is still completely dead. And yet, the internet is set up with no problems whatsoever. I AM NOT COMPLAINING! Ha! Incidentally, the new BT Total Talk phone and hub etc is all very spiffing and gorgeous-looking. I do not have a clue how to use the incomprehensible things, nor do I understand why I now have a seperate phone number to use with brand new portable phone. But heigh ho, maybe I'll read the manual at some point. For now, I don't care! I HAVE INTERNETS BACK!! *huggles internets*

And on a side note - can anyone explain to me why HP and the Philosopher's Stone has been translated into Latin and Ancient Greek? It puzzles me.

...that's good advice. It makes my brane hurt. I mean, it's also available in Welsh and 'Irish' (shouldn't that be Gaelic?), which makes marginally more sense. But only marginally.

and I think it's to encourage kids to learn Latin and Ancient Greek. or maybe so the poor sods already learning it have something fun to read. or maybe just so people can read it, and nudge the people next to them and say things like 'it's all greek to me, you know!'

...I would totally be that kind of geek. And if I knew Ancient Greek or Latin (you can learn it at Royal Holloway! I got very excited when I saw that...), I would probably read the damn book in that language. BUT STILL! As I don't, I can pretend I am not a nerd. :D!

I was totally a Harry-Potter-in-French smartarse, until I accidentally gave my copy away to my French exchange partner. But I'd totally read it in Latin, if I could.

To prove my nerdness, I must confess to you that I am snorfling with laugher because I just accidentally called myself an 'Ancient Geek' while pondering the matter of languages and Harry Potter books. Simple slip of the tongue and yet I am giggling like an idiot. Go me.

And dude! You will totally get the grades, I'm sure. From what you've said in your journal, you seem to be doing well at college. What have you applied to study anyway?

Well, I just snorted with mad laughter at it, so I guess I'm a nerd too. Which, y'know, isn't much of a shocking revelation.

Aaah, you missed out on all my 'almost getting kicked out of college for not doing any bloody coursework' fun. And also the fact that I have until Monday morning to get my art prep in before they'll mark me on my final piece alone.

I applied to do English with Creative Writing! I'm not too concerned about chances of getting in anymore, really. Yeah, they want AAB, but Falmouth seems really nice too and liked me so much they offered 3 Cs.

Hrrr. 'Not doing any bloody coursework fun' is rarely all that fun, when it comes down to it. Teachers will tend to be so uptight about the whole thing, which is always a drag. Bah. Kill the exams dead, you'll be reet. Especially with a backup Uni that you you think you'll like - when it comes down to it, most institutions are pretty damn similar anyway. *has tried quite a few out*

Wow, I'm envious. I would love to learn Latin though I'm fully aware that I would never ever use it. So it would be something of a waste of time but...still. Latin. Just too cool.
