Visit, day 2.
So. Two hours sleep because after I got up at 03:30 this morning to write the previous journal entry of great WTF, I couldn't sleep again. Spent some time drawing instead and while I still suck, I randomly happened upon a way to massively improve, which is good. I don't know where last night's creativity came from (that's a lie) but I'm not complaining.
And then - paid bills. Finally got the emergency dental treatment I've needed for months. Bought enough food to feed three armies. And...while on a gorgeous drive to a nearby town just to see what it was like, mother says,
'Look! There's a sign for a walk round some waterfalls. Fancy it?'
Me: 'OK!' though I hate walking round waterfalls. I figured though that since she's bought me a lot of stuff, it's only fair to spend the afternoon doing what she wants to do. And it was the most glorious blazing hot summers day today and a walk sounded quite nice, even though I was in totally the wrong shoes for it.
Note to everyone: After two hours sleep the night before, virtually no breakfast and no lunch at all due to numb mouth from dentist, DO NOT AGREE TO GO HIKING!!1! While the walk was beautiful (photographic proof forthcoming when film is developed), I knew what would happen - and it did. The round walk was 4.5 miles but we were all, 'We'll go a mile and a half and then come back' - only neither of us are the type to do that and so we ended up saying, 'We've come this far, might as well finish it.' Except the map was shit nd we got lost and ended up hiking about six miles, up the steepest hills I've seen in a long time and then back down again in the blazing sun, no sunscreen, bad shoes etc etc. Which is why I'm sitting here with legs in satisfied aching blahness, with a sunburnt and freckled face. It was totally worth it though.
While I was out, a dude called to set up a job interview with me (hurrah!). And then we came back, showered, and went for dinner - pub full of noisy chavs and then 40 hunky rugby players walked in! Yes, it was a good dinner. If loud. And then relaxed TV and now I am soooo tired I'm about to crash.
Tomorrow is - setting up/going for interview, baking a chocolate cake and chilling out with beer in front of football. Then mother will depart, housemate will return and life will continue as normal. Only I might have a job and I have food for month and months and months.
If she leaves without there being one row, I will die of shock. That won't have happened for about twenty years. But yay! It's gone so well so far, I'm in shock.
And now I'm going away - apologies for rambling and possible incoherence but OMG so tired. And writing! There'll be writing tomorrow. Wow. Productive few days. Who knew it was possible? Having use of a car makes all the difference in life around here.
Night all! :D!
ETA: There were showtunes all day in the car as well! Life doesn't get any better than that, even if I will be singing songs from Cabaret for the next week.
