I too, am a seat-of-pants writer. I get an idea, or a line or something tiny and just write down what happens. Have you tried planning stuff out? I dont get how people can do it - as soon as I write detailed plans, I dont want to actually write the damn thing anymore. Kills everything. Yet some of the best fic writers I know plan every detail out first....ah well, I guess we all do it differently, but as long as the results please us, it allgood. :)
I envy you your short chapter ability though - lol, I cant clear my throat in less than a paragraph. Never shorter than 8 pages these days, usually more like 12. *woe*
