fightingthecage: (Hamlet - O rly?)

Let me regale with a tale of mundanity. Is that a word? It is now. Anyway. This is so like me and my life right now = boring. Still.

I was talked into getting digital TV from my phone/ISP provider. Fine, I kinda need it because the picture on my TV is so bad. Eight weeks after I agree, I find out that BT had forgotten to order it. No worries, I rectify that and it's ordered. Wednesday, I'm out for the delivery. Thursday, the same. I phone and organise delivery for Saturday and wait in ALL DAY. Doesn't come. I phone back and they say (with no apology) that as the third delivery had been missed, they'd usually send it back to the depot but seeing as they hadn't shown on Saturday, they'll bring it again.

It is supposed to come on Tuesday morning BEFORE 11:30am. I am out after that, I tell them. No problem! they say and make a note of it on the delivery thingy. Tuesday = doesn't come before 11:30. I am about ready to give up on the whole thing. With a stroke of luck though I decide to skip the gym after class on Tuesday and go home instead, when it suddenly arrives! Hurrah!

I spend all yesterday evening trying to set it up. DOESN'T WORK! I am in a fury and vowing not to pay to get the thing sent back because why should I fork out for their shoddy equipment blah blah blah. So I phone the technical desk in a fit of righteous anger...and discover I was supposed to plug these adaptor things in that were sent with it. OK SO I AM AN IDIOT! Except that the brochure clearly states that these things are not necessary. WHATEVER! It is done now and although I can only get some channels, the picture is awesome and I don't have to be righteously angry any more so all is well.

Also, I have a new sofa. The delivery of that was completely pain free. it is a very odd sofa because it is new and very firm. And not long enough to sprawl on unfortunately but my mother wanted it and paid for it so I can't complain.

My life is boring, I know. What the hell though, I am enjoying it and actually feel constructive for a change, what with raising a small human and going to college (and actually going to lessons, wtf?) and everything.

Just to add, my baby is ridiculously beautiful. With hair that is also ridiculous - it spiked up this morning and she about doubled in length. 0_o. I need to take more photos.

ETA: S5 of Smallville did start this morning. Ha! D.L from Heroes was in it! And...Clark is now powerless and doesn't even care? Uh, OK. And Chloe just so loves him more than ever now she knows he's an alien. She looked like all her Christmasses made her come at once, heh.

You know what's weird? Seeing someone's name that you remember from school on Facebook and friending them...and when they friend you back, you realise that it is not, in fact, your old mate at all. BUT YOU STILL KNOW THEM! Srsly. I friended a girl and she is the sister of my old next door neighbour when I was a kid. My first ever job was working for her dad! Fucking bizarre. I'm surprised she remembers who I am...I was a bit mortified at first but then saw then eight of my other old mates had also made the same mistake. She still friended all of them too though. WEIRD.

I also feel the need to squee because I have randomly been given almost £200 extra from the Tax Credits people. I know not why. I am not complaining though, obviously.
