Which Discworld Character are you like (with pics)
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Commander Samuel Vimes

You are Samuel Vimes! Captain of Ankh-Morpork’s city Watch! You are a knight, married to the very wealthy, noble lady Sybil Ramkin. You often walk the streets at night, and are able to tell where you are by the feel of the cobbles under your boots. You always do what is right – that is, what needs to be done – to keep the city safe, even when it seems bad.

Ha! It cracks me up that I scored equally for Vimes and Vetinari. How is that even possible? Also, equally Granny and Nanny? Odd.

I am at an unexpected loose end, due to the fact that Evie has been asleep for hours (like, almost six) and therefore, I have nothing to do. Wtf baby? You're normally awake in the day and pass out from the early evening onwards. Now I fear you're going to be awake all night. DO NOT WANT! Besides, aren't you hungry?

I was idly watching TV the other night and was bemused to happen across an advert for a vibrating cock ring. It's so weird to think of the sort of things that are on regular TV now. Can you imagine such an advert on TV ten or fifteen years ago? I can't. On a sidenote, apparently the cockrings are rubbish. I have a friend who has tried them.

Finally watched HP5 today. *sigh* The effects were great as always but when are any of these directors going to work on the acting from the Trio? Radcliffe is OK but Emma Watson utters every sentence as though it's a STATEMENT!!!1! or even a PORTENT OF DOOM!!1! and Rupert Grint (the most naturally talented of all three of them, IMO) isn't given enough to do and is almost too laid back. Plus, the timing of all their conversations is off. Too slow. They don't speak like three best friends that have virtually lived in each others' pockets for five years.

The beginning was too flat. The plot points were all rushed together - understandable due to time constraints of a film I guess, but frustrating all the same. And Mark Williams as Arthur - wtf is he doing? Brits who have seen his acting and comedy before know that he's awesome...but he's just not doing Arthur justice.

I liked the ending. Gambon as Dumbly annoys me almost as much as ever but not quite as much as usual. I loved the way Dumbledore turned all the glass into sand as Voldy tried to attack them with it.

But really, I will watch it again for one important reason. Everyoe was so hot! Harry with short hair? Hot. Sirius in that retro three-piece ensemble? Hot. Even Snape, whom I've never found hot before...HOT! (I should clarify - I fancy the pants off Alan Rickman. But never before as Snape. This time though? Oh yeah). Even Ron! Even Lucius! So yeah. Will watch again. But I'll never stop being disappointed in the HP movies unless the last two are something spectacular.

I feel the desire to write again, which makes me glee.

I just finished watching S5 of The West Wing. Oh Aaron Sorkin, where are you? But apart from the lack of exceptional writing that I enjoyed over the first four seasons, I still enjoyed it.

I am seeing my mother twice in December. It'll be OK, as long as she doesn't expect to be introduced to Steve at any point.

I feel I'm forgetting something important I wished to impart. But I've forgotten so never mind. I'll just say Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans on my flist and sign off, I think. Happy Thanksgiving y'all! And everyone else, have a good day.
