Happy golden day of yore...
Jul. 31st, 2007 01:51 pmIs it wrong to randomly listen to the occasional Christmas carol in almost-August? I mean, I like carols. I love Christmas. And Judy Garland singing them is joy. But still, I feel a bit weird doing it. Ah well.
It is no surprise to me that my employers have managed to fuck my wages up again this month. In over a year of working there, they've only ever been right and/or on time twice. But this is a completely bizarre fuck up. I was all 'Bzuh' when I saw my paycheck because they'd paid me for 13.75 hours of work, over a five week period. Naturally, I queried this. It turns out that I was supposed to be paid for 136.75 hours work but the stupid woman at head office forgot to type in the 6, leaving me underpaid by about £600.
Yeah. I'm quite glad I only have three and half weeks left to work. Really don't need to be chasing up the money I've earned every single damn month.
I have a billion things to do today, all of them involving entire re-arrangment of my flat. Mother has purchased for me - one wardrobe (which says it weighs 60kg on the box, wtf?!), one chest of drawers and one bedside cabinet. Of course, I have to assemble them - and in order to have room to put them up and put them in place once they are whole, I have to shift my bed (king-size) and current furniture and all the shit everywhere in my bedroom and AGH! And then start assembling Scribble's crib and put baby things away and finish putting my books on bookshelves and then vacuum and clean and do laundry etc etc ad naseum. Naturally, all this explains why I am on LJ right now because who in their right mind wouldn't want to delay?
In happier news, I think I am going to see HP 5 tonight. Hurrah!
ETA: Does anyone know how to make text smaller on ones monitor? For some reason my computer has decided that I am vision-impaired and started making all the writing super gigantic. I thought it was just an lj glitch the other day (as that's when it first started - every time I refreshed a page or clicked a link, the writing would get larger) but gmail is doing it too. It's very bizarre and I would like it to stop.
