Singing in the....floods?
Jul. 23rd, 2007 01:35 pmBritain? Is so underwater. Like, when I joke about how much it rains in England, I'm not kidding. Especially at the moment, when we're having the worst rainfall since records began or something equally epic.
The only reason I mention it is because today, I have to go visit my mother. And guess where the worst floods in the country are right now? Gloucestershire. My buddy phoned me this morning saying that the city is without electricity and water, it's headlined on the national news, supermarkets have sold out of bottled water...grrr. My mother doesn't live in the city, she lives 20 miles out of it - but I'm going to have to go about 50 miles out of my way to head further south and across the Severn Bridge to get to her house because all the roads around Gloucester are cut off and that's where I normally come off the motorway.
This should be an interesting day. Yes. But first, midwife. Must check on Scribble's progress, aye. Catch y'all later, even if I'm somewhat soggy - its still raining down there! 0_0!
