Life Update

* I have a new house. It needs a lot of work. Like, painting/papering everything, fixing a door or two, new skirting board in my room, a few tiles need replacing, grass is in desperate need of cutting etc etc...I can't wait! I have licence to decorate and so, for the first time since ever, I can have my place exactly the way I want it.
Of course, this means that I will be spending the first week just stripping old wallpaper and cleaning before I can even touch a paintbrush, but whatever. I will have the satisfaction of knowing that the finished product will be fucking awesome.
* I will be even more AFK for the next week or two, I imagine. There's no way that decorating one house while simultaneously packing up another one, working, and looking after Evie as well can be anything less than utterly knackering.
* I have a cold. Which sucks.
* It has poured with rain all day. Awesome! Simply because it meant that work was dead quiet and I finished almost two hours early today.
* THE OLYMPICS HAVE STARTED WHEEEEE! I love the Olympics. No. I LOVE the Olympics. Like burning.
* Exam results on Thursday. I am intruiged about how I did in English and one History module and dreading how the second History module went. No matter how I look at it, that exam was nothing less than an utter disaster. On the plus side, all the drama about getting the house (hung in the very precarious balance for a long while there, due to my bad credit history) has completely taken my mind off the results and I just surprised myself when writing this because I'd forgotten they were only five days away.
* Am on book seven of The Dresden Files. Harry is such a Stu! I love it! He's always getting the shit kicked out of him and he's constantly nobly battling his own dark instincts and saving the world and being a lonely hermit and having to fight against people who should be on his side and no one helps him and he Does The Right Thing and everyone in the supernatural world seems to target him, and Chicago, for no obviously discernable reason. All that aside, I totally love this series. I've been looking for something I could really get into and things like this are what I love. I'm now at the stage where I'm actively trying to read slowly because I don't want them to end. Only three more before I'll have to wait for the next release like everyone else. Boo! But, I've read 6.5 in the last three weeks so I'm thinking another two weeks should see the end of them. ):
* I have decided not to apply for Oxford. It pains me to think about it but when it comes down to practicality
Although, I have to admit to being interested in the Archeology degree offered by the university I used to go to, 20 miles away. I don't like that uni much but Lancaster doesn't do Archeology and I've long been interested in it so...gah. I suppose I can just apply and decide next summer.
* I won £6.50 on the Euromillions lottery last night. Woot! Not as good as £31 million but it repaid the fiver I borrowed off my mother on Thursday, so allgood.
* Note to all gym users out there - if you stay away for a month or so, do not go in and feel all rested and invigorated and think 'Awesome! I can totally push it today!' and add extra weight to your normal workout willy-nilly. If you do, you will definitely regret this for the next two days.
OK, I'm shutting up now. I may well bore y'all to tears with blow-by-blow house-moving traumas that I fear are imminent, as and when they happen. And eventually there will certainly be pics. This is a project that demands before-and-afters!
