Advantage of living in an old Victorian house? High ceilings and a huge bay window! Gorgeous things that make a room seem a whole lot bigger, means that the place hardly smells when you sneakily have a fag (not that I do this now I'm up the spout but it was useful before) and lets in heaps of light and is classy etc.

Disadvantage? When there's a huge fuckoff spider up near the coving and it will not come down to a level low enough to be reached so I can stick a glass over it and fling it out of the window. Srsly, I just spent an hour and a half chasing the thing around with a squash racket, a bokken and a pint glass, attempting to catch it so that I wouldn't have to leave it and therefore, wake up with it on my face in the morning or something equally horrid. Not that this has ever happened to me but you never know! Everyone is supposed to swallow about four spiders in their sleep, in their lifetime, and this fucker was huge.

And now I have grossed myself out utterly.

In other news...I have no other news. Oh, except that I cried at the news tonight and that's the first time that's happened in a long time. Last night, an eleven year old boy named Rhys Jones was having a kick around in a pub carpark in Liverpool at about 7:30pm. He was with friends. And then a kid on a bicycle rode past and shot him in the back of the neck. Listening to his parents appeal for help and talk about when they realised he was dead and identifying his body and about all his new school things because he was starting secondary school next week...Lord. Heartbreaking.

Police are looking for a teenager aged between 13-15 in connection with it. Which suggests to me that they already have a pretty good idea who it was. Seriously world. Wtf? Kids shooting kids - what is up with us all? It's depressing.
