Oh My God, she's driving me insane. *pulls hair out* And I feel very nasty about it because she's actually making an effort not to do and say the things she knows piss me off. ARG!

Mother aside, things are OK. Went back to work on Monday and it was kind of like I'd never left. The first day was extremely bizarre though because I kept geting flashbacks to last year, both good and bad. Also, it's the first time I've ever worked there when Steve hasn't been around and it is totally weird. I have to keep reminding myself that he's not about to suddenly appear on his bike and that I don't have to make him food covertly because Head Chef Sam didn't want him to have it (no one else knew he was diabetic y'see, and I wasn't allowed to tell anyone). STRANGE! But it's been a good laugh so far and I haven't forgotten how to do my job...it's not taxing I know, but I thought there'd be details that would escape me. Not so far.

Other than that, it's as you were.

I said I'd do an 'about me' thingy a few weeks ago due to the new people on my flist. So I shall do that now for anyone interested, in easy to digest bite-sized chunks.

- I am British. Not English. My mother and all the large extended family come from Northern Ireland.

- I grew up in the South West of England after my folks split up when I was two.

- I have a sister who lives in New York. She is on my flist and thus, this post is filtered because we don't talk all that much and if she reads this, she'll probably tell my mother how frustrating I am finding her presence at the moment.

- I have a daughter who will be eight months old on Saturday.

Photobucket

Ain't she cute? Her name is Evelyn, though she's always called Evie.

- Her father and I were 'friends' when we worked at the same hotel last year (see top part of this post). Evie was unexpected to say the least. Cue drama and horrendousness in the extreme but it's OK now because he sees her every week and loves her to bits.

- I love sports, especially football. I'm sure there will be a few football related posts over the next month, due to Eure 2008 happening at the moment. I will cut these as I know the majority of my flist don't care.

- I like to run, even though I suck at it. I'm doing a half marathon in October and will no doubt utterly fail at it because I'm finding it very hard to drag my fat arse out of my chair at the moment.

- I'm in college (that's pre-University in the UK, not college in the American sense) at the moment, re-doing exams that I skived terribly when I was 18. The aim is to get top grades and go to a good Uni in September 2009. We'll see how that goes.

- I like fandom but don't get immersed in it usually. 24 has been my main one but I'm into SPN now too (isn't everyone?). SAMANDEAN FTW! Especially Dean because he is hot. Sam is cute but I despise floppy hair and his bitchlips remind me of my sister, which annoys me terribly

- I love books like a fat kid loves cake

- I don't understand people who don't believe in God, though I completely respect their right to do so. I also haven't been to church in about fifteen years.

- If I was American I'd be a Democrat which is odd, because in this country I hate New Labour with the passion of a thousand suns. Conservatives FTW in the next general election please. I love politics. I usually only talk about them when something major happens though because a) most of my flist are North American, I believe, and b) I am generally too lazy to post about such things unless something really grabs my attention.

- I love America. I spent six months in NYC and three months in L.A and have travelled through the country a whole bunch of times. I miss it.

- I am a whore for history and this is what my degree will be in when I go back to Uni.

- I have attempted to get through the first year of Uni five times. I do, in fact, suck.

- I work in the kitchen of a hotel which is mostly a good laugh, except when it gets madly busy and we realise we've run out of something important and everyone starts shouting at each other. Fairly typical of hotel kitchens then.

I think that's all the basics and will make some sense of the things I post most about. Long, naturally. I never know when to shut up.

Now. Do I watch the new Indiana Jones movie, which the magic fairies magically and invisibly deposited on my harddrive this morning? Or do I watch more football? Decisions decisions.
